About
The Muir House is a symmetrical wood frame dwelling in the Dutch Colonial Revival style facing northwest. Its footprint is 384 square feet, and there’s a finished basement area. The house is painted light green. The upper floor is clad in cut wood shingles, and the ground floor is stucco. The front door is located toward the west edge of the building and is accessed via a 6-stair concrete stoop. A fiberglass awning is supported by a wrought iron frame surrounding the front door. A shed dormer is located to the rear of the southwest elevation on the upper floor, and another toward the middle of the northeast elevation.

The dwelling is on a triangular parcel of 7,100 square feet that is Lot E of the Balzer Resubdivision (filed September 18, 1944) of Addition No 5 to Colorado Springs.
