On Saturday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. the group will meet Tim Scanlon at the McAllister House located at 423 N Cascade Avenue. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a long-sleeved shirt in case the fall chill is in the air.
Join us for a journey through time and the mesmerizing history of the Historic Uptown Neighborhood! Stroll with us as we step into the pages of history, guided by none other than Historian Tim Scanlon!
Our adventure begins at the charming McAllister House at 9:30 a.m. The McAllister House is one of the first homes built in Colorado Springs and is the perfect backdrop for our historical escapade.
As the leaves turn to vibrant shades of red and gold, our tour will be set against the backdrop of beautiful fall colors. With cooler temperatures, enjoy the crisp fall air. while listening to Tim’s rich stories about the captivating architecture and history of this beautiful neighborhood.

About Tim Scanlon
Tim Scanlon, originally from Kansas City, Missouri, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History from the University of Tulsa in 1975. In 1980, he obtained a Master’s in Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma.
Tim had a significant impact during his tenure with the City of Colorado Springs from 1985 to 2009, where he advanced to the position of Senior Planner. His contributions were noteworthy, encompassing urban renewal, housing plans, the initiation of the Downtown Business Improvement District, Comprehensive Plan updates, the introduction of the Mixed-use zoning ordinance, and the establishment of the Traditional Neighborhood zoning district.
